Joint Base Charleston combines the former Charleston AFB (437th Airlift Wing, flying the C-17 Globemaster III) with Naval Weapons Station Charleston. It's a strategic airlift hub on the South Carolina coast.

Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort

Beaufort, SC

MCAS Beaufort hosts Marine Aircraft Group 31 and is one of the Marine Corps' primary F-35B/C Lightning II fighter bases on the East Coast. It sits a few miles from MCRD Parris Island and shares much of the same Lowcountry community.

Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island

Parris Island, SC

Parris Island is one of only two Marine Corps recruit training depots and trains recruits from east of the Mississippi, plus all female recruits historically trained here before the Corps integrated recruit training across both depots. It's an island installation connected to the mainland by a causeway, steeped in Marine Corps boot-camp tradition.
