Altus Air Force Base

Altus, OK

Altus AFB is the Air Force's formal training center for mobility aircrews, run by the 97th Air Mobility Wing, teaching the KC-135, KC-46A, and C-17 to new pilots, boom operators, and loadmasters. It's a schoolhouse assignment rather than an operational combat wing.

Fort Sill

Lawton, OK

Fort Sill is home to the Field Artillery School and trains nearly all of the Army's (and much of the Marine Corps') field artillery Soldiers. It's also a Basic Combat Training site.

Tinker Air Force Base

Oklahoma City, OK

Tinker AFB is headquarters to the Air Force Sustainment Center and hosts the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex, a major depot-level maintenance hub for the B-52, E-3, and KC-135 fleets. It's also home to the 552nd Air Control Wing, which operates the E-3 Sentry (AWACS), and the 72nd Air Base Wing.

Vance AFB is an undergraduate pilot training base run by the 71st Flying Training Wing, flying the T-6 Texan II and T-1 Jayhawk. It's a compact, pilot-training-only installation embedded in the city of Enid.
