Davis-Monthan Air Force Base

Tucson, AZ

Davis-Monthan AFB is home to the 355th Wing, historically flying the A-10 Thunderbolt II, and to the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group — the well-known aircraft "boneyard" that stores and reclaims retired military aircraft. It sits on the southeast edge of Tucson.

Fort Huachuca

Sierra Vista, AZ

Fort Huachuca is home to the U.S. Army Intelligence Center of Excellence and trains most of the Army's military intelligence Soldiers. It also hosts significant Army network and electronic warfare test activity in the high desert of southern Arizona.

Luke Air Force Base

Glendale, AZ

Luke AFB is home to the 56th Fighter Wing, the Air Force's largest fighter training wing, training F-35A Lightning II and F-16 Fighting Falcon pilots for the U.S. and partner nations. It's a cornerstone fighter schoolhouse west of Phoenix.

Marine Corps Air Station Yuma

Yuma, AZ

MCAS Yuma hosts Marine Aircraft Group 13 and is a primary F-35B/C and legacy Hornet training base, benefiting from Arizona's near-year-round flying weather and the adjacent Barry M. Goldwater bombing range. Weapons and Tactics Instructor course, run by MAWTS-1, is also headquartered here.

Yuma Proving Ground is a large Army test installation in the southwestern Arizona desert used for weapons, vehicle, and parachute testing under harsh desert conditions year-round. It's a test-and-evaluation post, not a troop garrison.
